Japan Advanced Labour Staff Services (JALSS) is a recruitment / dispatch company. Most business operations and placement are in the Kanto area although the company claims international operations in China, Korea, India, and the Philippines. The company's website lists Hawk English school, PCL schools, ESS, and outsourcing companies in the philipines and in USA as it's main group of companies. Employment
Of approximately 1000 employees outsources, roughly 60% are Japanese and 40% are foreign (about half of the foreigners are from the USA). ALT placement is significant enough of a portion of their business for them to list services provided to ALTs as well as the training provided to and types of screening of their ALTs they offer for placement. Examples from their website include: "Curriculum with/Teacher has training to sing", "Teachers dress professionally with dress codes", "Teacher has been medically checked for any disease".[1]
